The value of solidarity beyond emergencies: towards a hopeful 2026

This last year, humanity has faced enormous challenges, leaving a dramatic toll on our present.

From the open wounds of war and conflict in Gaza, Sudan and Ukraine, to the climate disasters that have brought Pakistan and the Horn of Africa to their knees, to crises closer to home, such as the poverty that also affects our country, we have witnessed a succession of emergencies that have put everyone to the test.

Yet it is precisely in the darkest moments that our commitment must be strongest. In the face of suffering, choosing to act is not only a humanitarian duty, but the only way to make a difference.

As this year comes to an end, we reflect on the power of resilience witnessed globally, despite the obstacles faced. Thanks to the constant support of those who chose to stand by our side, we were able to bring care, food and water where there was none.

Our mission was encompassed through the smiles of the children we protected, the emotion of the families who received help and the determination of the communities who, despite everything, found the strength to get back on their feet.

Every intervention was made possible by the will and commitment of our field workers and our supporters. Together, we transformed solidarity into concrete action, bringing dignity even where it seemed lost.

2025 reminded us how essential it is to intervene promptly, competently and, above all, humanely. But our gaze is already turned to the future. In 2026, we can and must do even more.

Despite everything, we continue to believe in tomorrow with the determination to build a world based on respect, care, and peace.

Together, we can achieve a future of peace and solidarity. Stay by our side.

Happy holidays and a happy 2026 to everyone.
